Hair loss signs

People have between 100,000 and 150,000 hair strands on their head only. People normally shed hair everyday and during each day a human lose 50-100 hairs. Going beyond this range is a sign of abnormal hair loss. The first signs of hair thinning that people will often notice is when they see unusual amounts of hair on their brushes and clothing, in drains after shower or during hair styling, wich can also reveal a wider parting or a thinning crown. Baldness is the partial or complete lack of hair growth, and the causes, symptoms and even part of treatment differ for men and women. For men the degree and pattern of baldness varies, but its most common cause is androgenic alopecia, or male pattern baldness. It is caused by genetic traits passed down through trough generations by inherited DNA.

Symptoms of alopecia include circular patterns of baldness, losing hair in patches, skin lesions, dandruff, and scarring. Another form of mail baldness is Alopecia areata (mild - medium level) wich manifest as hair loss in areas like eyebrows, backside of the head or above the ears - where usually the male pattern baldness does not effect. In male-pattern hair loss, hair falling and thinning begin at the temples and the crown. Female-pattern hair loss occurs at the frontal and parietal area and, because women often maintain their frontal hairline, loosing hair may be less noticeable, particularly in the early stages.
